President Trump has tweeted that “Iran has never won a war, but always wins at the negotiating table”. With the message, he seems to want to dampen the enormous anger and revenge in Iran.

 

On his order, two key figures in Iranian policy in the Middle East were killed at the Baghdad airport site with American drones. According to Trump, they planned attacks on American targets.

One of the victims is General Qassem Soleimani, a war hero in Iran.

 

He was also the right hand of spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Soleimani led individual units of the powerful Revolutionary Guard.

They carry out actions in the region and have played an essential role in the defeats of the Islamic State and other Sunni militias in Syria and Iraq.
