McDonald’s Needs 20,000 Extra Workers in Great Britain and Ireland
McDonald’s will need a lot of extra staff in Great Britain and Ireland in the near future.
The American fast-food chain wants to create approximately 20,000 jobs there to meet the expected growth in demand for, for example, Big Macs, Happy Meals and McFlurry’s after the corona pandemic.
McDonald’s will also open fifty new restaurants in the countries in the next twelve months. The chain currently employs more than 130,000 people in approximately 1,400 British and Irish restaurants.
Whether the new forces will be found quickly remains to be seen. Paul Pomroy, the CEO of McDonald’s in the British Isles, has indicated in British media that it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit staff.
The British catering industry is struggling with a significant staff shortage since the relaxation of the corona measures makes it possible to receive guests again.
