Jamie Lynn Spears Expresses Support for Sister Britney
Jamie Lynn Spears stands squarely behind her sister Britney and supports her wish to phase out her father’s trusteeship and a lawyer if that makes her happy. So says the younger of the two sisters in a candid video on Instagram, a few days after the much-discussed testimony of the older of the two in a US court.
“Hello everyone, I just want to take a moment to discuss a few things”: Jamie Lynn Spears begins her Instagram story in which she responded to the now infamous testimony of her older sister and superstar Britney in a US court a few days ago.
Britney said in court that she wants to get rid of the strict control her father James and a lawyer had had over her life since they were appointed as her administrators in 2008 when she was struggling with mental problems. “I just want my life back,” she said, among other things.
“I’m so proud of her for using her voice,” Jamie Lynn says now. “If the trusteeship ends…or whatever she wants to be happy, then I support that. One hundred percent. Because I support my sister and I love her. It always has been and always will be.”
“She’s my freaking big sister, before all this bullshit. I don’t care if she wants to run away to the rainforest and have a zillion babies in Pluto’s lair and then return to dominate the world as she did do so many times. I have nothing to gain or lose, and this situation does not affect me. I am her sister who only cares about her happiness.”
The only reason Jamie Lynn didn’t speak up about the case earlier, she said, is because she thought Britney should be the first to have the chance to do so. “Now that she has spoken very clearly and said what she had to say, I can follow her lead.”
“I made a very conscious choice in my life to only intervene in her life as a sister and as an aunt for her sons. Perhaps I have not supported her in the way that the general public wants, with a hashtag (a reference to #FreeBritney, a hashtag her fans cultivate) and a public platform. I assure you I supported my sister long before there was a hashtag and will continue to do so long after. My sister is the only one I owe. I am not my family, I am myself, and I speak for myself.”
Jamie Lynn Spears is currently on Netflix’s “Sweet Magnolias” series. She previously appeared in series such as “All that” and “Zoey 101”.
