US President Joe Biden has warned US companies about Russian cyberattacks due to Western sanctions against Russia.

 

According to Biden, there is intelligence from the intelligence community that Moscow is looking at ways to carry out cyber-attacks against US companies.

Biden, therefore, urges companies to strengthen cyber defences immediately. The president says the harsh sanctions are causing unprecedented damage to the Russian economy.

He says most of the major infrastructure in the United States is owned by private companies, and they need to do more to close their ‘digital doors’. According to Biden, cyber-attacks on infrastructure are one of Russia’s means of retaliating in a conflict.
