Germany Wants to Close Its Borders to Countries With Many Corona Mutations
Germany will close its borders for people from countries where there are many corona mutations, such as Great Britain, Portugal, Brazil and South Africa.
The government in Berlin does not want to wait for European measures, German media reported Thursday.
It is planned that the entry ban from high-risk areas will be settled this week. The responsible Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer, initially wanted to regulate this at European level, but will now return to this.
More and more states are already closing their borders. The fear of more contagious corona mutations is also great in Germany.
Furthermore, the German government does not expect a European solution in the short term, according to Berlin.
