US Government Wants to Punish Hong Kong Leadership

The US government will punish the leadership of the Chinese city of Hong Kong and other Chinese top figures after a strict security law was introduced in the metropolis by the communist regime in Beijing.

The sanctions are directed against the top ruler of the metropolis, Carrie Lam, and other senior figures in Hong Kong and China.

They are being punished for their role in cracking down on those with political dissent, reporters from Bloomberg news agency report.

In Washington’s view, the new law violates Hong Kong’s special status after the end of British rule in 1997.

The Americans can deny the affected person entry to the US or freeze their assets in the US.
