United Kingdom Passes 25 Million Booster Shots

In the United Kingdom, the 25 millionth resident will be given a booster shot on Thursday, the government reports on its website on Friday.

In the campaign for the extra shot, which has been running for several months, more than 700,000 people are now being vaccinated per day.

The national health service NHS is still looking for 10,000 staff to help with vaccinations. However, the British Army has made 750 soldiers available to help distribute booster vaccines in the UK.

According to the government, tens of thousands of volunteers have signed up to support the booster campaign. In addition, additional vaccination centres and temporary locations have been opened to make it as easy as possible for people to get vaccinated. As a result, every Brit of 18 years and older can sign up for the booster shot.

Health Minister Sajid Javid is pleased but also warns the British. “We have no time to lose in the fight against the virus. Booster shots are absolutely essential to strengthen our defences, and the milestone is a testament to the enthusiasm of people across the country to get vaccinated now,” said the minister…

So far, nearly 70 percent of Britons have been fully vaccinated, and one in three people have received an additional vaccine.
