Trial of Ex-Vatican Ambassador for Sexual Assault in Paris

Former Vatican ambassador to France, Monsignor Luigi Ventura, is due to appear in Paris on November 10 for being charged with “sexual assault”.

Four men have filed complaints against him.

The trial can begin because the Vatican lifted its diplomatic immunity last year.

The 75-year-old Italian denies all charges.

He was the diplomatic representative of the Pope (Nuncio) in France from 2009 to 2018.
