Third Corona Vaccine Approved for All Adults in US

The US drug regulator FDA approves a third shot of the corona vaccine from Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech for everyone 18 years and older.

The booster shot is now only administered to specific risk groups in the United States.

The additional vaccination follows at least six months after the administration of the second dose. Now that approval is pending, a special vaccination committee of the US Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) is looking at the rollout of the vaccines.

From this fall, residents of the United States can receive additional vaccinations if they are at least 65 years old, have underlying medical conditions or are at increased risk of infection because of their work.
