European Commission President Von der Leyen to Visit Kyiv This Week
This week, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is visiting Kyiv’s Ukrainian capital. A spokesperson for the European Commission announced this on Twitter on Tuesday.
Von der Leyen will be accompanied by Josep Borrell, the High Representative for European Foreign Policy. The two will meet Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky.
Last Friday, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, already visited Kyiv, where she addressed the Ukrainian parliament.
It is not clear when von der Leyen and Borrell will travel to the Ukrainian capital.
However, the visit will take place in the run-up to ‘Stand op for Ukraine’: that international donor conference will take place on Saturday in the Polish capital Warsaw and is organized by the European Commission and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
