Another close associate of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson resigns. This time it’s Henry Newman, an adviser to Johnson and close friend of his wife.

 

Last week, five close Johnson employees decided to resign. The chief of policy and top political adviser, Munira Mirza, is among them. Their dismissal is part of the ‘party gate’ scandal surrounding various parties that allegedly occurred during the lockdown at 10 Downing Street, Johnson’s official residence.

Now, adviser Henry Newman has also decided to no longer work directly with the British Prime Minister. Instead, he remains active in politics and moves to another department. According to the spokesman for the prime minister, it would be a “joint decision”.

This time it is not only the prime minister himself who ‘loses’ someone. His wife Carrie Johnson would also see a close friend leave. She once described Newman as one of her “favourite people”, and he is also said to be a regular at the Johnson home.
