A record number of new coronavirus infections have been reported in the United States.

 

The last 24 hours involved about 60,000 cases, according to counts from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

The previous record of 54,000 infections was recorded almost a week ago.

The number of new infections rose dramatically from mid-June following the relaxation of corona measures.

The states of Florida, Texas, Georgia, Arizona and California are particularly hard hit. At the beginning of the outbreak, the east coast with New York State was the focal point.
