The iPad Pro, the top model from Apple’s tablet series, will receive a significant upgrade next month.

 

For example, the device will be equipped with the M1 chip that also powers the latest computers from Apple, a so-called XDR display with more than ten thousand mini LEDs and 5G technology.

It comes as no surprise to anyone that Apple was replacing the Intel processors in its notebooks and laptops with its own M1 Silicon power source as soon as possible. The iMac also has the ARM technology-based SoC (System-On-a-Chip) since this week.

But we did not immediately see that the iPad Pro would be powered by an M1 (previously an A12Z Bionic processor) in no time.

It is an M1 with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. ACCORDING TO APPLE, the CPU works up to fifty percent faster; in turn, the GPU ensures forty percent faster graphics. And because the M1 is more energy-efficient than the iPad’s previous power source, the tablet’s battery would still last a full day.

The number two eye-catcher is the 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen of the (most expensive) iPad Pro. It contains no less than 10,000 mini LEDs, which guarantee a full-screen brightness of 1,000 nits, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1.

The display supports advanced technology such as wide colour reproduction (P3), True Tone and ProMotion (with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz).
