United Nations Confirm 516 Civilian Deaths in Ukraine
At least 516 civilians have died in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, the United Nations said. The death toll was 474 the day before.
908 civilians were also injured, mainly in Donetsk and Luhansk. These regions in eastern Ukraine have been at war for eight years.
According to UN figures, there have been slightly fewer injuries in the rest of Ukraine, but many more deaths have been recorded.
The UN human rights office believes that the number of victims is actually significantly higher because not all reports have been verified yet. In addition, information sometimes comes in later.
