In Mexico, dozens of people were injured in protests on International Women’s Day in the capital yesterday.

 

When a clash between the demonstrators and the police resulted, the Mexican Public Prosecution Service has reported. According to authorities, more than 60 officers were injured, and 19 women were also injured.

Thousands of protesters marched to the National Palace in Mexico City yesterday. President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador had fenced in around the palace for fear of possible violence.

Some activists nevertheless broke through the fence, where the police used tear gas to disperse the protesters. Both officers and civilians were injured in the clashes.
